Après des études musicales à Paris (CNR) et à Londres (Royal Academy of Music), Chloé van Soeterstède a étudié la direction d’orchestre au Royal Northern College of Music à Manchester avec les professeurs Clark Rundell et Mark Heron. Elle intègre également les masterclasses de Juanjo Mena, Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Sir Mark Elder, Jorma Panula, Nicolas Pasquet, Leonid Grin, Paavo Jarvi et Neeme Jarvi. Elle a récemment dirigé le Manchester Camerata, l’Orchestre des Jeunes Européens ; elle a également travaillé auprès de François-Xavier Roth. Depuis 2015, elle a assisté Sir Mark Elder pour l’orchestre du Halle, John Storgårds et Ben Gernon au BBC Philharmonique, Vasily Petrenko et Yan Pascal Tortelier pour l’orchestre Philharmonique de Liverpool. En 2012, Chloé a créé son orchestre, Arch Sinfonia, un orchestre de chambre basé à Londres. En tant qu’altiste, elle a joué avec de nombreux orchestres dans le monde mais également en quintette et avec son quatuor à cordes, notamment en Angleterre.


Chloé van Soeterstède studied conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music with prof. Clark Rundell and Mark Heron where she graduated in June 2017. She has masterclasses with Juanjo Mena, Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Sir Mark Elder, Jorma Panula, Nicolas Pasquet, Leonid Grin, Paavo Jarvi and Neeme Jarvi. She made her debut with the Manchester Camerata last June and was invited to conduct the European Union Youth Orchestra in Italy last August. In March 2018, Chloé van Soeterstède will conduct members of Orchestra Les Siècles at the Cite de la Musique. She has served as Assistant Conductor to Sir Mark Elder with the Hallé, John Storgårds and Ben Gernon with the BBC Philharmonic, Vasily Petrenko and Yan Pascal Tortelier with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Chloé van Soeterstède has been working with Francois-Xavier Roth in France in April and June 2017. She has worked with many orchestras in United Kingdom, Germany, Finland and France, including the United Strings of Europe Chamber Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Solingen Orchestra, European Music Campus Orchestra, Halle Youth Orchestra and the Royal Northern College of Music Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, Chloé founded the Arch Sinfonia, a London-based cross-arts chamber orchestra. As a viola player, Chloé van Soeterstède performed with the European Union Youth Orchestra, the Pacific Music Festival (Japan), the Aurora Orchestra. She also performed at the Royal Opera House (quintet) and was re-invited with the Deva Ensemble (Manchester Camerata soloists). In 2012-2016, she gave recitals at the Wigmore hall with her string quartet as part of the Pro-Corda quartet course and at the Royal Academy of Music fellowship.
